Framed for You, Here's a Card, Thank You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

My third day of trying to get my posts to look like "normal" using the new Blogger updated program.  Thank you for being patient with me as I muddle through this.  I can deal with subtle changes but not large ones and many all at once!  So here's my card for today.

My card was made using the new "Framed for You" stamp set.  My set is VERY special.  The lady that designed the set is the demonstrator Terri Gaines and I am SO fortunate enough to know her. She was able to design the set because she reached $1,000,000 in sales. It's one of the bonuses you get when your sales reach the million mark.  So my set is special because she autographed it.  But I had to make the card, so here it is.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut the card in half on the 8-1/2" side.  Then scored the piece on the long side at 5-1/2". I always have to stop and think about the scoring because it's not how I usually make a card.  My card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x -1/4" piece of Smoky Slate card stock to use for the layer.  And the top Whisper White piece was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

First I stamped the cute little flower from the "Framed for You" set using Daffodil Delight ink.  I fussy cut it out.  Then I set it on top of the Whisper White piece to see where center would be and where I needed the greens to stem from.  I made a light pencil dot so I knew where center basically was.

I stamped the greens using the Granny Apple Green ink.

I stamped six flowers using Highland Heather ink.  I fussy cut each one out.  And yes, I was in a good mood, that's why there was so much fussy cutting.  Plus this set didn't have a matching dies.  But the frame can be die cut using the square dies, so it kind of does.  Anyway, after fussy cutting the flowers I added a Dimensional to the back of each little flower and the back of the daisy.  I set them on top of the card but didn't affix them. I was using them to see where the words were going to go.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and I stamped them using Smoky Slate ink.

I took some retired ribbon and made a bow.

The flowers were set in place on the card and then the bow was added using a glue dot.

I colored 6 small pearls using the dark Blends Pen and I set them in place on the Highland Heather flowers.  I set a plain one on the daisy.  And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out.  To mail it, I will place a piece of the shirt board (from 12" x 12" card stock or from a cereal box if I don't have any shirt board) on top of the card so it's smooth and will go though the post office machines easily.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
