Ornate Style, Itty Bitty Greetings, Ornate Layers, Friendship Card

This card was not what I had in my head but this is what happened on paper. I struggled to find the right leaves with no success.  You don't need eye bleach but it's still not what I was going for!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I took a 5-3/8" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White and I textured it with the "Brick & Mortar" embossing folder.  I taped that piece to the front of the card on the left.

I die cut a 2-7/8" circle of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I trimmed off about 3/4" and taped it in place along the brick piece.

I die cut the frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies.  And then I stamped the flower on it from the "Ornate Style" stamp set.  I colored the center of the flower using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends Pen.  The leaf and stem were colored using both light and dark Old Olive Blends Pens.  I added Dimensionals to this piece.

I set the piece in place on top of the card so I could see where the words could go.  The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings".  They were stamped using black Memento ink.

The leaf is from the "Poppy Moments" die set. I used Mossy Meadow card stock to cut them.  I stuck the leaf to a Dimensional on the back of the focal piece.  And then I stuck the focal piece in place on the card and the card was done.

It wasn't bad to make, it just wasn't what I had in mind.  But it is what it is!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda

  1. Great layout of your pretty card. And I love that "brick" embossing on just part of the front. Nicely done!
