Gorgeous Posies, Flowers for Every Season, Get Well Card

I found a pretty card on Pinterest and I wanted to make it but I didn't purchase the latest in colors.  So I thought I would see what I could do with what I had. You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Seaside Spray card stock. It's an in color for the 2019-2021 collection.  I bought two colors from that collection.  As far as the new ones that came out in June, I have yet to purchase any.  I'm trying to use what I have and go from there.  My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I textured it with the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.  I taped it to the card base.

I cut two 2" strip from the "Flowers For Every Season" 6" x 6" paper stack of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The stack is all in colors but I've been able to work with them, so far.   I cut the floral strip 5" long and the green one I cut 3-3/4" long before punching the ends with the "Triple Banner" punch.  I taped them in place on top of the embossed piece.

The words are from the "Gorgeous Posies" set. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink.  I die cut them with the second smallest circle die using Whisper White card stock.  And used the third smallest scalloped circle die using Seaside Spray card stock.  I taped the two layers together and I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on top of the card.

I added three clear rhinestones to the card and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun and quick card to make. I am thinking about grabbing a bunch of my retired DSP and whipping up some quick cards.  I have a ton of DSP to use up.  I keep adding the retired ones to the pile and rarely go back to them.  I need to take a day and just make retired stuff cards.

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today,
Wanda

  1. Hi Wanda, I am in the same boat! I need to use up my old DSP in order to feel okay about ordering new. Your card fits the bill! I have a Pin Board labeled DSP design cards and yours will be added. Thank you for sharing our design.
