Many Layered Blossoms, Butterfly Wishes, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this card on Pinterest and thought it was SO pretty. So much so that I had to make one.  You can see the original card here. (Sorry, I can't find the link to the original card, when I do I will add it). It is much prettier than mine. My coloring is different but it's one of those cards that you can't make the next one exactly the same.  I like it, no complaints here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.   This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I die cut the images using the "Many Layered Blossoms" dies.  There's a thicker one and the fine detailed one. I used Whisper White card stock for both.

I took my Blends Pens and colored a rainbow of colors across the thicker die cut piece.

If I had been smart I would have used sticky sheets to die cut both of the flower images but I didn't think about it at the time.  So what I ended up doing was, I took some white glue and put it on a piece of waxed paper. I rolled (not folded) the waxed paper onto itself and moved the glue around on it.  I opened it up and set the thin detailed die piece on the glue. I pressed it down with a piece of copier paper on top.  I immediately removed it an set it in place on top of the wider colored image.  I didn't quite get it on there evenly so some of the color spews out from the detailed lines.  But you only notice it now because I told you about it!!

I set it on top of my card base so I could see where there would be room for the words that I have.  These words are from the "Butterfly Wishes" set.  I stamped them using Versa Mark and white embossing powder. I heat set the powder and then I repeated the waxed paper glue thing for the wider piece and set it in place on the card.

I didn't add any other embellishments. I thought it looked pretty enough without them.  Plus it's cheaper to mail too.  I did add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card was done.  Isn't it pretty? I love all the colors.  It was a fun card to make and I need to work harder on lining up that detailed die.  I'm not sure I want to give up this card, I just love the colors.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
