Positive Thoughts, Wonderful Moments, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I'm playing with an older technique.  I had made a card using this technique back in 2016.  You can see that card here.  I love it that I have several samples to go by. I did have to take a look myself. And you can see the other sample I have here.

This is a pretty easy technique to do.  I cut my Gorgeous Grape card stock 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it.  Then I cut off 2" from the bottom and I cut 2" from the fold.

I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Essence" 12" x 12" paper pack to 1-3/4" x 4". I needed two of these.  I taped them to the card front and the 2" card front piece that was cut off.

I cut a 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape for the layer of my panel.

I cut a 2" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock for the image.

I stamped the fern image from the "Positive Thoughts" set using Old Olive ink.

The words are from the "Wonderful Moments" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I taped the piece to the Gorgeous Grape panel.  Then I took a ribbon I had and tied it around the panel and just tied a knot. You can use any ribbon you have on hand. That's what I did. I have SO much ribbon here and I need to start using it up. 6" at a time helps but not fast enough!  LOL

Now comes the tricky part.  I found that if I clip the bottom piece to the card, lining it up with the back of the card, it was easier to put the panel on. I just used a big paper clip.

I put 4 Dimensionals on the panel. And I also added 4 Dimensionals on the DSP, making sure that it was under the panel and not sticking out.  I removed the backing and set the panel in place.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

This is such a pretty card and a fun layout.  I have made several of them and can see myself making more.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to visit. I hope you are safe and healthy,
Wanda
