Under My Umbrella, Bridal Shower Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I found this fun card on Pinterest and I thought I would give it a try.  I bought this set in January and have not used it yet.  I've been playing with a lot of the other ones I bought. I really need to rethink my buying!! You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock.  On top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Subtles stack.  I like these little stacks.  In the past I could never get through an entire 12" x 12" pack at twice the price.  And I can't get through these 6" x 6" pack.  I picked out the writing looking one. It resembled the original card more. The original card looks like it used colored vellum that was textured with an embossing folder.  I didn't have either.

I die cut a scalloped stitched rectangle from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies using Whisper White card stock.  I used the second largest one.  I also die cut the smallest one for the wording.

I stamped the umbrella from the "Under my Umbrella" stamp set on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I also stamped the flowers image on a scrap piece.  I punched the umbrella using the matching punch and I fussy cut the flowers.

I colored the umbrella using both the light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens.  I colored two of the flowers using the dark Petal Pink Blends pen and I used the light Calypso Coral blends pen for the center flower.  I colored the center of the flowers using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen.  The leaves were colored using the light Old Olive Blends pen.

The words are from same set. I also stamped them using black Memento ink.

I taped the DSP to the card front.

I cut a 2-1/2" piece of ribbon and I folded it in half and stuck it together with a glue dot.  I affixed the ribbon to the DSP where I thought the rectangle piece would be covering it.  You could also stick it to the rectangle but it will be "off the ground".

I added Dimensionals to the large rectangle piece and I set it in place on top of the card.

I took the umbrella and set it in place in the bottom corner using Dimensionals.  I didn't add any Dimensionals to the center, I needed to have a place open to slip the handle in.

I punched the handle using Early Espresso card stock. I didn't want it to be black, black was just too dark.  I used glue and slipped the handle just under the umbrella.  You can determine how far you want the handle to go in. That would depend on how big your word part would be on top.

I added the flowers using a small Dimensional on the left side and some snail tape on the right.

I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals.

A few gold "Metallic Pearls" to the front of the card and it was done.  Cute, isn't it?  See why it caught my eye?

Don't forget to add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.   Now it's done!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
