Thoughtful Blooms, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today I thought I would get out my sponges and see what kind of trouble I could get into with them.  I took a brand new one and cut it into 4ths.  I prefer to have my sponges a bit larger than most. I use a large clip to hold my sponge so I don't get my fingers all inky.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I lightly loaded up my sponge with Bermuda Bay ink. I gently swirled the sponge across the card stock in a elliptical motion.  It was strange to do at first because I was used to doing circles.  Once I got my oval as large as I thought I would like it, I stopped.  My oval starts about an inch from the top of the card base and is about 3" long and 2" wide.  I hope that helps you out some.

I stamped the stem from the "Thoughtful Blooms" 2020 Sale-a-Bration set using Pear Pizzazz ink.  I think I should have used Old Olive, the Pear Pizzazz is a bit on the lighter side and the Bermuda Bay showed through a bit. I did not set this up in my Stamparatus. If I had I would have inked it up and stamped over it again to make it darker.  I did the same with the leaf.  Still not thinking to set it up in the Stamparatus.

I stamped the flower from the "Thoughtful Blooms" set using Daffodil Delight. I used the solid flower image here.  I punched it out using the matching "Small Blooms" punch.  Both the stamp set and the punch are Sale-a-Bration items.  The flower is easy enough to fussy cut out if you don't have the punch.

I stamped the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I wanted to make a "thinking of you" card.  I make a lot of birthday cards and not very many thinking of you cards and I sell out of the thinking of you cards pretty quickly at the craft fairs.  The words were stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink.

I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.  And then I added a small rhinestone to the center of the flower and the card was done.

This is a very quick, easy and simple card to make.  I think I'm going to make a few more and maybe change the color of the background.  And I WILL set up the stem and leaf in the Stamparatus to make sure I get them more solid.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
