Bonanza Buddies, Children's Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I found a scrap of decorative paper that I thought I would put to use instead of recycling it.  It wasn't very big but big enough!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  Wishing now I would have used Real Red instead.

I taped the 5-1/4" x 2-5/8" piece of decorative paper to the front of the card.

Then I took the largest "Stitched So Sweetly" die and die cut a piece of Basic Black. I LOVE these dies because they are not only stitched, but they are scalloped.  How cute is that? You get six sizes of rectangles plus 4 other label stitched dies.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 2-5/8" piece of Whisper White to go inside the stitched rectangle piece.  I stamped the words from the "Bonanza Buddies" on it using black Memento ink.  Then I taped it to the black stitched rectangle piece.

I taped those two layers to the front of the card and centered it as best as I could.

I stamped the bird from the "Bonanza Buddies" set using black Memento ink. I stamped the hat and I fussy cut it because it was stamped too close to the edge to use the die cut.  Plus it was easy, three snips and it was cut! I glued the hat to the top of the head of the bird.

I colored the beak using Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie markers.

I punched a 1-3/4" Basic Black circle and a 1-1/2" Granny Apple Green circle and I taped the two together.  And then I taped them to the front of the card.

I added Dimenisonals on the back of the bird and I set him in place on the circle.

I stamped the balloon using Coastal Cabana ink.  I took the Basic Black marker and drew the line from the balloon to the beak of the bird. I also drew a sideways figure "8" to make it look like the tie of the balloon.

I added a pompom from the "Assorted Pompoms" pack. I set it in place using glue.  It seemed to stick better with glue than with a glue dot.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and it was done.

It's fun when you can use up pieces of card stock and papers sitting around.  There's some fun papers in the "Bonanza Birthday" pack that you can use in place of what I used to make it current.  Or you can dig through your stash and see what you can use up too!!

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
