Painted Poppies, Sending You Thoughts, Birthday Card, 2020 Spring Catalog and Sale-A-Bration

I actually had to look up online to see if poppies come in other colors than reds.  I don't know that much about poppies but I did discover there is a very pretty Himalayan blue poppy.  It's SO pretty that it almost made me want to buy the seeds to plant them.  Almost. I'm not big on gardening.  That requires you to go outside.  LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Essence" 12" x 12" pack.  It measures 5-1/4" x 2-1/8". I cut a piece of Seaside Spray card stock at 5-1/4" x 2-1/8".  I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of scrap copier paper so I could tape those two pieces to it and have just one piece to tape to the card base.

After taping the DSP and card stock to the copier paper, I ran a piece of ribbon along the edge of the DSP.  I taped the ends to the back of the card.  I probably should have tied a bow to the ribbon, it would make that space not look so empty and open.

I stamped the words from the "Sending You Thoughts" using black Memento ink.

I stamped the flower from the "Painted Poppies" set using black Memento ink.  I die cut it using the die that came in the "Painted Labels" die cut set.  I colored the flower using both light and dark Old Olive and Seaside Spray Blends pens.  I took the dark Seaside Spray pen and ran the side of the pen tip along the edge of the die cut piece.

I set the flower in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. Not one of my favorites but I do like this layout. And I am going to add a knot tied under the words.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
