Bonanza Buddies, Itty Bitty Greetings, Children's Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

For my card today, I thought I would try yesterday's layout and see what else I could come up with.  I changed the orientation and this is what happened!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

First I cut the top layer of Whisper White card stock at 4" x 5-1/4".  After texturing it with the "Corrugated " embossing folder, I had to trim the right (short) side by 1/4" because the embossing made the card shorter.  So it now measures 4" x 5".  I set this piece in place using Dimensionals.

Then I cut a 1-1/2" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Birthday Bonanza" 12" x 12" pack.  I cut it 5" long. I then placed the right end in my "Triple Banner Punch" and punched the end. I taped this piece in place on top of the embossed Whisper White piece.

Then I die cut a piece of the DSP using the second largest stitched die from the new "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.  I also die cut a Bermuda Bay piece using the largest stitched die in the pack.  This pack also has adorable stitched scalloped rectangles. There's six of those in the pack and four of the just stitched ones (no scallop).  I didn't want you to think the Bermuda Bay piece was the largest one in the whole pack.  It's a must have pack!  I taped the two die cut pieces together and then taped them to the front of the card.

I die cut the bird from the same DSP package.  I wanted my bird to face right but I didn't want to fussy cut it, though it wouldn't be bad to fussy cut.  So what I did was I turned the DSP over and set the bird "Bonanza Die" on it while holding it up to the light so I could line it up backwards!  I put a small post it note on it to hold the die onto the DSP so it wouldn't shift when I set it on the Big Shot.  I die cut it and it was perfect!!! Yay, no fussy cutting.

I die cut a hat using a piece of DSP from the same pack. I did glue the end of it onto the head of the bird.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink on a 1/2" strip of Whisper White card stock.  I cut the piece to 1-3/4".  I also marked the center on the right side and clipped from corner to center on each corner to form the ribbon look.

I set the words on first using Dimensionals.

Then I added the bird using Dimensionals.

And for the final touch, I added a tiny pompom from the "Assorted Pompoms" package. I glued this in place.  And that was it.

I like how this turned out, though I am partial to the "Bonanza Buddies" set and DSP. I think it's just too stinkin' cute!

Thank you SO much for having a look today,
Wanda
