Floral Essence, Butterfly Wishes, Sailing Home, Birthday Card

This card was inspired and pretty much copied from a card I found on the internet.  You can see that card here.  I didn't like the way the card opened.  Well, I do like it but those who purchase my cards (usually elderly people) prefer the traditional way of cards to open.  So I just changed the front a bit and this is what I came up with.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card is folded in the left and opens on the right.

I cut a 2-3/4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Essence" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I taped the DSP at the bottom half of the card front.

I cut a 5/8" 4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I taped that strip over the top edge of the DSP.  You can pretty much put it anywhere around edge.

I die cut the "rope" strip from the "Sailing Home" bundle using Whisper White card stock.  I glued that strip in place on top of the Mossy Meadow strip.

I stamped three three petal flowers from the "Floral Essence" stamp set using Balmy Blue ink and Balmy Blue card stock.  I punched them out using the "Perennial Flower" punch.  I glued the centers together and I set them aside to set up.

I stamped the leaves from the "Floral Essence" set using Mossy Meadow ink and Mossy Meadow card stock.  I punched them out using the "Leaf" punch.

The words are from the "Butterfly Wishes" set. I stamped them using Mossy Meadow ink.

Next I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.  I taped the leaves in place with snail tape.  I added a Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the flower and the card was done.

This was a very simple card to make.  I LOVE the colors and I also like that it's opens like a "traditional" card!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
