Good Morning Magnolia, Wonderful Moments, Birthday Card

Isn't today's card beautiful?  I found it here.  I couldn't help myself, I just had to make it, or try to make it.  There aren't a lot of instructions there.

I did find this a very easy card to make.  Die cuts help a lot!!!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow.  This card was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side, it opens from the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of the Designer Series Paper  (DSP) "Magnolia Lane".  I taped it to the bottom of the card front.

Then I cut a 4-1/4" x 3/4" piece of the DSP from the opposite side of the flowered side.  It's a very soft pink striped paper.  I thought it looked like ribbon on the original card.  I taped that the bottom edge was about 1-1/2" from the bottom edge of the card base.  In other words, there's 1-1/2" of the DSP showing now.  Then I tied a ribbon around the card front using the "Polka Dot Tulle" ribbon.  I like to tie my ribbon leaving it still on the spool so there is lest waste.

Next I stamped the flower from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I used black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock and I did set it up in my Stamparatus, just to make sure it got inked evenly all over. I have come to rely on the Stamparatus and I have found that I waste less card stock that way.  If I don't like what I see, I just ink it up again and give it another try.  After stamping the image, I die cut it and then colored it.

To color this flower, I used the Blends pens. I colored the center using Daffodil Delight (dark) then I colored the whole flower using light and dark Petal Pink. I colored the leaves using both light and dark Mossy Meadow Blends and the stem using just the light Soft Suede pen.  I set the flower in place using Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the words using Whisper White card stock and Mossy Meadow ink.  The words are from the "Wonderful Moments' set.  I punched out the words using the "Classic Label" punch.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and it was done.

I thought this was SO pretty and I was thrilled that I was able to reproduce it.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
