Good Morning Magnolia, Magnolia Lane, Thinking of You Card

I am still playing with the "Good Morning Magnolia" stamp set and dies. I bought the bundle.  You save 10% when you do that. Every little bit helps!

Today's card is a very simple one.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  My card opens at the bottom

I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Magnolia Lane" 12" x 12" paper pack.  You could make a dozen of these cards using a 2" strip! I made two.  I taped that strip to the bottom part of the card base. I did leave a border around the DSP.  Click on the photo and you can see where the DSP was placed.

I die cut the Whisper White piece using the "Stitched Nested Labels" dies.  I used the third largest die for this card.  I set my die cut piece in my Stamparatus and I lined up the "Thinking of You" words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink.  I stamped them to the right so I would have space for the flower.

I took a scrap piece of Whisper White and I stamped the small magnolia image using black Memento ink. I die cut the piece out.  And at the same time, I die cut two leaves using a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow card stock.

I colored the flower in using the Petal Pink Blends pens.  Both light and dark.  I colored the whole flower light first and then I came back in with the dark Blends pen.  I used the flower image on the DSP as a reference for coloring.  It almost looks like I cut it out of DSP.  The images on the DSP are outlined in Mossy Meadow, not black.  I could have stamped the flower using Mossy Meadow ink but I used black Memento instead.  I wasn't sure how much the Mossy Meadow would smear with the Blends Pens.  I colored the leaves in using the Mossy Meadow Blends pens.  And the flower stem was colored in using the dark Soft Suede Blends Pen.  I colored over the flower petals only using the Wink of Stella pen.

I set the Whisper White label piece in place using Dimensionals.  Then I added the flower using Dimensionals.  I glued the leaves in under the flower.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

I thought it was a fun card to make. It was easy and quick too.  And not to mention pretty!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
