Geared Up Garage, Masculine Card, Father's Day

The "Geared Up Garage" set is a great masculine set to play with.  It can be used to make a fun birthday or Father's Day card.  Or a card for the guy you know that LOVES cars!

This is a very easy card to make.  The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gray Granite.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Best Route" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I stamped the car image using black Memento ink.  Before I set that piece aside, I set it on top of the Whisper White piece and slid it down a little and drew a line so I knew where not to stamp.

I stamped the car using black Memento ink.  I stamped the smoke using Gray Granite ink. I stamped it close to the back of the card and without inking it up again, I stamped it to the right of the first puff of smoke.

The "Best Dad" is from the "Geared Up Garage" set and I stamped it using black Memento ink. I die cut it with the matching dies.

I taped the DSP to the Whisper White piece. I took a piece of black ribbon and taped the ends to the backside. I took the ribbon, still on the spool and slipped it under the taped ribbon and tied a knot. I like making my knots this way because I can slide it to where I think it looks best.  Then I taped the piece to the Basic Black piece.  The Basic Black piece was taped to the card base.  I added the words piece using a Dimensional.  And for the final touch, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

I really like this set and I think I'll be playing with it a bit more. I do have one regret though, I didn't buy the DSP that was offered with the set. There's some really fun designs in that pack. I will not be buying anything right now because I'm saving for the new catalog that will be released in a few weeks.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
