Butterfly Gala, Better Together, Birthday Card

Today's card is a quick and easy one.  I found the card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  I had used a piece of Decorative Series Paper (DSP) that was left over from a previous card.  You can see that card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/7" piece of Whisper White.

I took a piece of the "Gingham Gala" DSP that I had left over from a card I made a couple of weeks back. I had taken a piece of the Balmy Blue DSP and used a black marker and a ruler to make lines on it.  It changes the whole look of the paper.  There was just enough scrap left to make this card.  that piece measured 1-3/4" x 5-1/8".  I taped it in place on the top layer.

I added a piece of Balmy Blue ribbon to the edge of the DSP. I taped the ends on the back.  When I set that piece in place on the card base using Dimensionals, I made sure that a Dimensional was stuck to the ribbon to make it even more secure!

I stamped the words from the "Better Together" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut them using the oval dies.  I die cut a Balmy Blue oval a bit larger and then a Basic Black oval just a bit larger than the Balmy Blue one.  I taped all those ovals together and set them in place using snail tape.

I stamped the butterflies from the "Butterfly Gala" stamp set using black Memento ink on Balmy Blue card stock.  I punched them out with the "Butterfly Duo" punch.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.  I colored over the wings with the Wink of Stella marker and that was it.  I am still thinking about adding some sequins or some enamel dots to the card.  At first I thought it looked good without them but I'm thinking it needs a little something more after all.

This was a fun card to make and super easy.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
