Signs of Santa, Christmas Card, 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was really struggling with how to use this Christmas bulb Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "All is Bright" 12" x 12" pack.  I remembered this layout and I ran with it and I was happy that I was able to use that DSP in a way that I liked.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut the DSP 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

The measurements for making the "Raised Panel" technique  part can be found here.

I stamped the Santa from the "Signs of Santa" set using black Memento ink.  I colored him in with Blends markers, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Powder Pink.  I die cut him and then I die cut a Whisper White circle and a Real Red scalloped circle.  I taped those two circles together and set them in place on the card front using a little bit of glue. I didn't want to use tape, I needed to be able to move it a bit if I didn't like where it landed.  I set the Santa in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Signs of Santa" set and I stamped them before I set the panels in place.

The bundle came with the stamp set and the dies. In the dies where I found the one to die cut the Santa out was also three different sized snowflake dies. I cut some out to place on the card front because I knew it would look too blah if I left it plain.  I added a clear rhinestone to the center of each snowflake to give the card some sparkle.

This was a fun card to make and I was SO thrilled that I could use that bulb paper.  That was a very big challenge for me.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
