Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, Birthday Card

I took the day off yesterday. I had such a horrible head cold and it hurt to breathe. Plus I had no voice. Not that I needed a voice to stamp but I was just feeling awful.  All the rest I got yesterday was just what I needed because today I feel pretty good. Just a nasty cough. I have not been sick in 3 years and I forget how awful it is!!

Today's card was very fun to make. I was trying to figure out what to do with those 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" squares in the "Petal Promenade" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  There's quite a few of those squares in the pack plus there's some rectangle ones. I was able to find a use for the rectangle ones a lot easier than these square ones.  But I did manage to make it work to where I was happy with the outcome.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Blackberry Bliss card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White card stock that I textured using the new "Tuffted" embossing folder.  I like using that folder, it's got such an elegant look to it.

I cut a 2" x 5-1/8" piece of the DSP.  This was from a full 12" x 12" sheet of all flowers.  VERY pretty!  I also cut the layer behind it 2-1/8" x 5-1/4" using Blackberry Bliss card stock.  I taped it in place on top of the embossed piece.

I cut out one of the squares to measure 3" x 3" and I cut the layer behind it 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" using Blackberry Bliss card stock.  I stamped the birthday greeting from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using Blackberry Bliss ink.  Then I taped those two layers together and I set them in place on the card front using Dimensionals.   I added three of the Blackberry Bliss "Faceted Dots" to the bottom part of the square, just under the words and that was it.

It was a pretty quick and very simple card to make. Plus I got to use the square floral frame image in a way that I actually liked!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
