Thinking of You Card, July 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

This morning I thought I would play with my July 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit (finally!!!).  It has small gift cards, which I don't have any use for and it also has some paper baskets to make, which I also have no use for.  SO that means it was time to get creative.  And this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the blue checkered tissue paper that is meant for the inside of the baskets.  You use one or two full sheets for the basket so that means you can make two backgrounds.  Which really means you can make twice as many cards!! Oh boy!!!  LOL Sometimes I find that in using pieces of the kits to make alternative cards, I end up with more parts that I thought and more cards than I had anticipated!!  Sometimes it's a good thing and other times I'm just trying to get through the kit.  This card was fun and I plan to make more like this to use up the pieces in my kit.

Okay, back to the card. I taped the blue checkered tissue on with snail.  Then I took one of the baskets and cut two sides 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" square.  About 1/16" from the top of the tissue paper, I found center and taped the square in place with the tip on the top.  I taped the second one to the tip to the first square (you can't see this, it's under the focal piece.  These basket pieces are textured and gives those squares a nice and fun look.

I followed the instructions to make the stamped dashes on the square note card piece.  Though I did cut that note card in half.  I taped the white checkered tissue paper to the center of that square.  Then I took the apple die cut and taped it to the center of that tissue square. I did color the stem before I set the apple in place. I used the Blends marker to do that.  I just thought it would look better brown than it would red.  I took one of the white rectangles and stamped the lines on it.  I cut that in half on the short end so I had two long pieces.  Next I stamped the words using the rounded edge die piece and taped those two lined pieces to the back.

I tied a piece of the white Baker's twine around the focal piece and then added the apple using Dimensionals.

It's a quick card to make and it was fun to come up with something that I could use more easily than the tiny cards and baskets.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
