Dandelion Wishes, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card

As summer is drawing to a close, I am finding myself using stamp sets that are summery.  The winter Stampin' Up! catalog will be available to order from soon and then it will be fall and winter stuff.  So, today I thought I would play with the "Dandelion Wishes" set.  I made a super easy card with it too!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. The layer on top is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Night of Navy.

I textured a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder. I taped a 2" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Best Route" 12" x 12" paper pack. Now if I were smart, I would have cut that DSP 2-1/8" then I could have cut the embossed piece in half and would have been able to make two cards.  But I didn't, so I taped the DSP to the bottom of the embossed piece. I then taped that piece to the Night of Navy piece and those layers were taped to the card base.

Next I cut a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the dandelions on it from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them using Night of Navy ink. I forgot to mention that I was using Night of Navy ink because it was the closest in color to the Blueberry Bushel DSP. I did not buy any of the in colors this time around.  To get the works, card stock, ink, inkers and markers it will run around $80 and it just wasn't in my budget. Plus after looking at what was left from the recently retired in colors I decided that I could manage without the new colors.  So far so good.  I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Night of Navy for the layer behind the dandelions image.  I sponged in some Night of Navy ink in the center of each dandelion. I taped the Whisper White layer to the Night of Navy layer and I set it in place on the card front using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using Night of Navy ink. Now once again had I been smart, I would have cut that scalloped oval from the 3" x 3" square.  But I didn't!!  But I did have scraps left so I didn't have to take a new sheet to cut these pieces from. I taped the ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals on the left side of the oval (on the back) and snail tape on the right side.  And the card was done. Such a fun card!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
