Varied Vases, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card

This was a very fun card to make. I borrowed Terri's "Vase Builder" punch.  Psssst.  Take a look at Terri's blog, she has  a lot of fun things on it!!! But come back here to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card is cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. It opens from the bottom.

On top of the base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Layered Leaves" embossing folder.  On top of that is a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock. On top of that is a 3" x 4" piece of the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).

I stamped the flower stems on a piece of Whisper White card stock and then die cut with the 2-1/2" oval die, or somewhere close to that.  And I die cut a Basic Black scalloped oval for the layer behind the flower oval.

I stamped the vase and punched it out. I will give you a tip on that punching later in this post.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the smallest die cut in the set. I also die cut a small scalloped layer for the words.

To assemble my card I used Dimensionals to set the 4" x 5-1/4" embossed Whisper White piece. I taped the black and the SDSP piece directly to the embossed layer.  I also taped the oval layers directly to the SDSP.  I used a couple of Dimensionals on the vase. And I used Dimensionals to add the words. I colored the vase in with Wink of Stella to give it a little bit of a sparkle.

Now the tip you've been anxiously waiting for.  Punching out just one item with your punch can ruin your punch.  Take a piece of card stock and punch out all of the images.  Then put your stamped in the opening of the punched items.  Set a clear block on top and you can stamp all at one time and punch at one time.  I took my blender pen and removed the Pool Party ink from the flower and colored it in with a Real Red marker so I can use that tulip at another time.  And I can use those other vases at another time too.  And I know that my punch is punching level and will last for quite a while. So, there's your tip. It's great words of wisdom so you don't ruin your punch. I did have a punch ruined because I was punching just one item from it.  Punches are not cheap, so take care of them!!  (Yes mom!!!  LOL)

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
