Petal Palette, Wedding Card, Anniversary Card

Today I attended Terri's Stamping Extravaganza. I got to see a lot of the new products in the catalog being demonstrated or samples shown. It lets you see things upfront and close to know if you really want to buy them.

And that brings me to why you are seeing this card.  There is a card contest and this is the card I am entering.  It was very easy to make and I will tell you how I did it so you can whip up a few for upcoming weddings and or anniversaries.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I textured a piece of Whisper White card stock using one of the embossing folders from the "Petal Pair" pack.  I cut a square from for my card.  I took the front piece and die cut a circle in it. It's a little off to the left.  I also took that circle and one that is a little larger and die cut a ring to go around that circle. I used the glitter paper for the ring.  I also used that glitter paper for the flowers, I cut two and the lacy bar.  The bird was stamped on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink and so were the words.  The fun tag that the words are on are from the same "Petal Palette" set.  Once I got everything die cut I colored the bird. I used Balmy Blue and a blender pen for the belly of the bird. I used Soft Suede and a blender pen for the wing and face of the bird.  And now I was ready to assemble the card.

I glued the ring to the circle opening.  I added the flowers using glue on the parts that would be touching the card stock. I had poured some white glue on a piece of plastic, (I used Aleen's Tacky Glue) and I just touched the pieces to the glue. It made it easier than trying to actually put glue on the spots I needed it to be on.  I pressed those pieces in place.  The lacy piece was actually die cut with the double sided sticky paper so it was just a peel and stick thing. After setting that in place I added the bird using the small Dimensionals.  I added the words with the original size Dimensionals.  Then I added the embossed piece to the back of the circle. I used Dimensionals to set it in place.  Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the front panel and affixed it to the card base.  It's a pretty quick and easy card to make, plus I thought it was very pretty.  I had found it on the net but I couldn't find where, so if you know who made this card, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link back to their blog.

After making this card and seeing how easy and quick it was, I do want to make a few to have on hand.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
