Petal Palette, Thank You Card

Today I was going to copy a card right out of the 2018-2019 catalog but I switched gears part way though.  The original card can be found on page 119. I don't usually copy anything from the catalog because I don't usually look at the catalog for ideas, I'm often found on the net.

This card was pretty simple to do.  The base of the card is the new Balmy Blue, a half sheet that was folded in half. This card opens on the right.

I stamped the large leaf from the set using Balmy Blue ink. Then I stamped the leaf more towards the center but I didn't ink it again. Then I took the dotted image from the same "Petal Palette" set and I stamped off once and stamped on the right edge. I also stamped below it, parallel to the bottom of the card but the word piece hides most of it. I continued to stamp the dotted piece (stamping off first) three more times in a fan or angled formation.  Click on the photo for a closer view.

I die cut the leaves using the new Soft Sea Foam green color. I used glue dots to hold it in place at the bottom and I cut a glue dot in half and used it on a couple of the larger leaves to make the top part stick a little more.  I die cut the lacy looking image using the Dazzling Diamonds (or whatever it is called) card stock. I used a sticky sheet behind it so it became a sticker. It makes it easier to affix to the card front.

I stamped the words using Smoky Slate ink and I die cut them with the fun label die in the bundle.  I stamped the bird using Smoky Slate as well. I colored it with the Balmy Blue marker and a Blender Pen. I also used a little Soft Suede to color in the face/head.  I set the bird and the words in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  It was pretty easy but nothing like the catalog sample!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
