Petal Palette, We Must Celebrate, Birthday Card

Does this look like a child's birthday card?  No, it doesn't to me either. I was suppose to be making a birthday card for a little girl who will be turning 5 soon but I got distracted by a card I saw on Pinterest.  I just couldn't help myself so here I am still needing a children's birthday card!!! So typical of me.  Easily distracted.

This was a fun card and I don't regret making it.  I will be making the other card and fortunately I do have time to make it. I was actually planning ahead.  Good thing!!!

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Pool Party.  Using the second largest oval die I cut a white circle.

I stamped and die cut the bird and flowers from the "Petal Palette" set. I set them aside along with the lacy looking piece that was cut from Pool Party and the words that were from the "We Must Celebrate" set.

To assemble my card I taped the Pool Party piece to the card base.  Then I added a 1-1/2" piece of "Petal Passion" Designer Series Paper (DSP) about 1/4" from the edge of the Pool Party piece.  Then I set the oval in place with Dimensionals.  On top of that I taped the lacy looking strip.  I taped it in the middle and to the left on the oval.  Set the flower piece in place and you will see where to tape the strip.  I set the flower piece in place with Dimensionals and then the bird. I centered the word piece and set that in place with Dimensionals as well.  Lots of Dimensionals on this card!!!  But it's SO pretty!!!  And it was pretty easy to make too.  I don't think there was any part of the card that I didn't like doing.  Shocker, I know!  But when you have the dies to cut things out for you, how can you not like that???

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
