Party Pandas, 2018 Sale-a-Bration, Child's Birthday Card

I am getting quite a collection of children's birthday cards now thanks to this "Party Pandas" Sale-a-Bration set.  I'm going to be sad to see it go at the end of the month.  I will probably hang on to mine for a couple of months and then put it in my web store. I need to make room for new stamp sets.  I literally have no room for any more stamp sets.  Fortunately there is a huge garage sale in the neighborhood in May and I will be putting quite a few in it.  But for now I'm keeping this one and having some fun with it because I can whip up a child's birthday card in no time at all.

I was at Terri's "Technique Night" on Tuesday and I found this card on her display board. I did change a few things on it but for the most part, it's a copy.  The bad part about those boards is, I do not know who created the card.  So if you know who designed this card, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link back to their web site. I'm also giving you a link to Terri's new and fun web site, click here.

To make this card, first I stamped the bear and set it aside to dry. I didn't want to take any chances on the black smearing. I had just inked up my black Memento pad and I was concerned about that.  So while I was waiting, I cut the card base which is a folded half sheet of the Lemon-Lime Twist in color.  I also cut two pieces of Whisper White 4" x 5-1/4".  One for the top and one for the inside. I prefer to write on white or vanilla on the inside of my cards.

I found some fun colored paper in the "Birthday Memories" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I cut the DSP 1" x 4".  I taped it on the Whisper White piece about 1-1/4" up from the bottom.  To mark it easily, I taped the back and lightly pressed one side, then I took a piece of copier paper scrap and lined the edge up with the bottom of the DSP on one side. I ran my fingernail along the bottom of the Whisper White and it made a mark on the copier paper piece.  Then I moved the copier paper piece to the other side of the DSP and checked to see if it was at the same mark. Most of the time it is (just lucky there!) but when it isn't, because I didn't press it in place I am able to move it to where I need it to line up.  Simple, simple, simple!!!  Next I die cut the panda using 2-1/8" circle die and I cut a larger scalloped circle using Tangerine Tango card stock. I was going to use Pumpkin Pie but I wanted a brighter orange. I colored the hat of the panda using the Lemon-Lime Twist marker and the Daffodil Delight marker.  I taped the panda on the Tangerine Tango piece. I added Dimensionals and I set it on top of the card front but I didn't stick it down yet.  I needed to add the festive images using Pool Party and Lucky-Lime Twist ink.  Then I set the circle in place. And lastly I stamped the words using black Memento ink.  I added my white piece on the inside and the card was done!

It was a very quick card to make and super cute for a child!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
