Amazing You, Beautiful Bouquet, Birthday Card, 2018 Sale-a-Bration

Here's a fun and pretty card I found on Pinterest. I was in the need of a fresh birthday card.  It would be awful if I ever used one in my stash.  I always feel I need to make a fresh one.  Plus I make a card just about every day so why not make a fresh one???  LOL

I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the card in pink or blue, so I made two to see which I liked better.  So to make one card (and I'll just refer to the pink one as I talk you through the process) you will need to stamp 4 of the flower images from the "Amazing You" Sale-a-Brations set. I fussy cut the outside of two of them and I cut the inside flower of the other two.  I colored them with the Pink Pirouette Blends pens. I set them aside.

I die cut the second largest "Lots of Labels" framelits die using a piece of wood grain paper from the "Wood Texture" 6" x 6" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) pack. I stamped the flower image twice on the DSP using Old Olive ink. I also die cut a piece of Basic Gray and Smoky Slate card stock.  I cut the card stock pieces about 1/2" down the side of each end of the card stock.  Fortunately for me I was able to use both ends because I made two cards. I taped the Basic Gray card stock to the top of the DSP and the Smoky Slate piece to the bottom of the DSP.

I set a half doily on a piece of Smoky Slate cut 4" x 5-1/4".  I set the DSP piece in place on top of the doily using Dimensionals.  Then I took a flower and taped it over the Olive Green flower, making sure to line it up so the Old Olive lines don't show. Then I took the center flower and added a Dimensional to the middle. I curled the petals with a bone folder. I set it in place on top of the flower base. I didn't match the petals, I turned it a little do it looks like a more full flower. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers. I should have done that before I put the flowers together.

I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Boutique" in the bottom corner.  I added pearls sporadically around the card.  I layered the Smoky Slate layer with Pirouette Pink for the top card and Soft Sky for the bottom one and the base of the card is Basic Gray.

This was a fun card to make and now I have to decide which one I am going to give my sister.  I'm leaning towards the pink one!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

  1. OMG, I love this !!! The pink flowers against the wooden "plaque" are perfect! Using the gray with the pink also was a great combination!
