Touches of Texture, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

I thought it would be fun to make the focal part of the card on the inside.  So to do that you need an opening in the front.

The base of my card is a folded piece of Whisper White.  I cut the card stock on the short side so the card opens at the bottom.  Having it open at the side works well too.

Next I cut a piece of the "Delightful Daisy" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped it in the center only.  I needed to be able to remove it after I was done cutting the oval opening.  I tried to center the oval die as much as I could without measuring.  I probably should have measured because it's not centered but it's close enough so it's okay with me!

Next I took the DSP and lined up the scalloped oval die and ran it through the Big Shot.  Then I taped the DSP to the front of the card.

I stamped the image through the oval, though you can trace the oval so you can see the lines on the inside and stamp and then remove the lines.  I did open the card to stamp the flower stem.  The flower is from the "Touches of Texture" set.  I colored it in with the Peekaboo and Pumpkin Pie markers. I colored the leaves using Old Olive. Oh, I also had stamped the stem using Old Olive ink.  I colored the center of the flower using Daffodil Delight.  Then I colored the center using Wink of Stella.

I stamped the tiny flowers from the "Touches of Texture" set, I stamped 2 Pumpkin Pie and 2 Peekaboo Peach. I punched them out using the 1/2" circle punch.

I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using Basic Black ink.  I used the Classic Label punch to cut them out.  I glued them in place and then added the flowers to the ends. I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals. I colored the flowers with Wink of Stella and that was it.
It's pretty simple and it didn't take as long as I thought it would.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
