April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Father's Day, Masculine Card

I was playing around with one of the pieces of decorative paper in the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I liked the striped paper but I thought I would mix it up a bit and make it even busier.  I cut 1/4" strips from the piece and taped them onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. I moved them over just a bit so they looked more like a rectangle checkerboard.  After I taped them all in place I trimmed them to measure 4-1/4" by whatever was left.  That whatever part is hidden behind the Decorative Series Paper (DSP) from the Urban Underground pack.  I need to use that up before the end of the month too!

I used the same layout as I did a few days ago. You can see that card here plus the measurements on cutting that top layer.  Though that part isn't a big deal as far as accuracy goes.  You can cut that at any angle you want and it will still look good. I think I may have cut mine a bit shorter so I could expose more of the checkerboard image that I created.

I used the Washi tape that came with the kit.  And I stamped the words that came in the kit.  I did cut a 1" strip of Whisper White cardstock and punched the ends before I added the Washi tape.

The words were die cut with the oval dies and a Basic Black scalloped layer was die cut for each of them as well.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I took the "White Perfect Accents" and colored them black with a Sharpie and I scattered them around the front of the card on the Urban Underground paper.

It was a fun and simple card to make.  I did like playing with the strips the most. I thought it was a lot of fun to create a whole new look.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
