Beautiful You, Mother's Day Card

While at Terri's Technique Tuesday last week, I took a photo of a card on one of her display boards that I just HAD to make.  The only change I made to it was the wording.  The original card had the words "Life may not be the party we had hoped for but while we're here we might as well dance".  They were stamped directly onto the soon to retire "Falling in Love" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).

The quarter piece of paper doily in the corner is also retiring.  The Rhinestones are retiring but will appear in the catalog again but not in the long strips, only as single rhinestones.  I like that, I don't often use a strip of rhinestones or pearls.  Plus it's not that difficult to line a few up if you need them in a line.  I'm just glad they are still keeping them in the catalog.  They add so much to a card.

So to make this card, I used a folded half sheet of Sahara Sand cardstock.  Then I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the "Falling in Love" DSP.  Then I stamped the dancing lady from the "Beautiful You" set using black Memento ink.  Next I added the quarter doily.  I used the vanilla colored side.

I took my Blushing Bride marker and colored in the dress. I colored in the hat using the Sahara Sand marker.

I printed out the words on my computer and die cut them with the ovals.  The scalloped oval is a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.

And for the final touch I added 3 rhinestones and the card was done!  SO simple, very quick, and a lovely Mother's Day card. I may make some more and make them into birthday cards.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
