Hang Your Stocking, Christmas Stocking, Christmas Card

Here is another one of my favorite cards using the "Hang Your Stocking" stamp set and "Christmas Stocking" Thinlits.

I LOVE the "Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions "Embossing Folder.  I almost forgot to mist it before I ran it through my Big Shot.  And I did forget that I only need one plate and it dawned on me when I couldn't get the thing to go through the machine at all.  Fortunately it's so big when you try it wrong that it won't hurt your machine!!  So I remove one plate and ran it though and out comes this pretty sweater looking paper!!  Here's a tip for you, don't trim your paper to your desired size until after you have embossed it.  This will shrink your paper a bit and you won't be happy with the size.

I used the oval Framelits and scalloped oval for the center of the card.  The words come with the set and were stamped using black Memento ink.  I taped it in place, I did not use Dimensionals on the oval piece.

The stocking was die cut using the red glitter paper.  I used Garden Green card stock for the accent green and for the base of the card.

Before attaching the knitted piece to the base of the card, I added the Baker's Twine  and the red and green silky threads around it.  I taped them in place on the back and then I tied a knot on the front.  I like doing it that way, not because you save on the ribbon and threads, you don't save much at all.  I like it because I can slide that knot wherever I want to.  Here I slid it to the center, though I did try it on the left and the right.

For a final touch I added a green enamel dot to the center of the snowflake and a green heart to the oval piece.

I did have fun making this card!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
