Cookie-Cutter Halloween Fall Treat Bag Tutorial

Today while surfing the net (instead of cleaning my workroom), I found a fun tutorial on how to make this cute little treat bag using 6" x 6" paper.  I LOVE those paper stacks and always have paper left.  What a great way to use them up.  I found the bags here at "Stamp With Peg".   I thought they were so cute and after reading the instructions, I saw how easy they were to make. So I had to get out a piece of paper and give it a try.  I cut a full sheet of decorative paper from the "Halloween Nights" Specialty paper pack.

I scored my paper at 1", 2-7/8", 3-7/8" and 5-3/4".  You turn the paper clockwise and score at 1" and 5-1/2".  My measurements are different that what are on Stamp with Peg's post.  I tried her measurements and my box wasn't square.

Fold all score line using a bone folder.  The top score folds down to there is a contrasting edge.  You can fold it inside but it looks better folded down in front.

You do need to clip the bottom scores up to the 1" mark. The instructions tell you to tape the seams.  I prefer to glue them. It doesn't take long for the glue to set up. Use your bone folder to press the glue into the paper and let it set for a minute and it's ready to go.  I glued the side seam first and then the bottom flaps.  And that was it.  Decorate as desired!!!  It was SO much fun.

I used the "Cookie Cutter Halloween" set to decorate the front of my bag.  I was going to use a Halloween character but I opted for the scarecrow.  I can set it out now and leave it until after Thanksgiving (just before the tree goes up!).

I didn't have any current ribbon so I used the "Bow Builder" punch.  I thought it looked adorable on the bag.  So darn cute, huh?

I colored the scarecrow in using markers.  I taped him to a scalloped oval and I set that in place on the bag using Dimensionals.

I had a lot of fun making the bag and decorating it was even more fun!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
