A Detailed Santa and Oh, What Fun Shaker Christmas Card

I was thinking of not doing my usual snowman card this year and make a Santa one.  Not this one though, I don't want to send out shaker cards in the mail.  I don't think I have enough shaker stuff plus, I don't want to spend the extra postage.

For my card I used a folded half sheet of Real Red card stock. I die cut the Santa using the "Detailed Santa" Thinlits die.

The words are from the "Oh, What Fun" set from last year.  I used the "Duet Banner" punch for the words.  Those words were actually in a straight line.  I bought the acrylic stamps, not sure if they come in the red rubber or not.  With the acrylic ones you can bend them.  I set the words, letters down on top of the punch itself and lined them up.  Then I pressed the stamping block on top of that and the words came off the punch and stuck to the block. I inked it up using Real Red and stamped it on Whisper White card stock.  It was exactly how I wanted it to be.  I punched them out, sponged the edges and set it on top of the other banner image using Dimensionals.  I taped that in place on top of the card.  Pretty simple.

For Santa, after I die cut him out I cut a Window Sheet and glued Santa on top of it.  I used the new "Foam Adhesive Strips" to make a frame for the Shaker Card.  I poured a bunch of no hole seed beads in the center of the Real Red piece and then set the Window Sheet and Santa piece on top. Super easy but like I said, I don't want to spend the extra postage to mail a thicker card. If I was only sending out a few it would be okay but it's Christmas cards and I never send out just a few!!!

This was a fun and easy card to make and I need to think of what else I can do to make this a little different so I can use it for our card this year.  Or not!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
