A Botanical Builder and May Paper Pumpkin Birthday Card

I was going to make a monochromatic card but, as much as I think they are elegant, I really like a touch of color.

I don't often play with that long framelit in the set.  The one that is on the left side.  It created a nice touch.  I don't know why I don't use it, I do like it.  It cuts easy and the pieces are super easy to remove.  So what's the problem???

I used the new Flirty Flamingo card stock for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  Of all the leaves in that set, I do like this one best.  I did struggle with getting it out of the framelit, even with that sponge base and bristle tool.  I went back to using waxed paper and now I LOVE this leaf even more!!!  The waxed paper makes the image come out right away.  Sometimes the image stays on the card stock after I lift off the framelit.  That makes it easy to remove the waxed paper and the image from the card stock.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!  I even used it on the black center piece for the flower.  Same thing, it came out nicely!  That tool to remove the images is nice and it works really well for decorative paper, but I find it more difficult for card stock!  So I will use mine on the decorative papers and waxed paper on the card stock.  Whatever makes me the happiest!!!

So, back to my card.  I set the flower in place with a pop up glue dot.  I was going to use a Dimensional but that meant that I needed to get out of my chair!!  I had moved them and didn't put them back!  I'm SO lazy!!! LOL  The glue dot was great though, I was adding two leaves to it too and that didn't leave a lot of sticky area left.  But as sticky as those dots are I found it stuck very well.  I added the black center to the flower and a pearl on top of that.

The words are from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  They are separate and I set them togther on my clear block so I could use them at the same time.  They are still on my block. I have plans to use them again soon so I didn't want to put them back yet.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
