A You've Got This and Wetlands Birthday Card

While looking through my stamp sets, the "You've Got This" set caught my eye.  It's been a while since I've played with it. I think that happens every time something new comes out! Even though the 2016 Occasions catalog items are still available, I thought I would set them aside and play with some from the current 2015-2016 regular catalog.  I tend to purchase too many stamp sets and I always feel that I don't get to play with them enough before they retire.  But yet it's fun to have a lot of different sets, so I can totally understand the neglect, if it can be referred to as that.  Anyway, I pulled this set out along with the Pool Party ink and card stock and started to play.  I wanted to keep it simple and clean.  I think I accomplished it.

Stamp the flower image first. Then stamp the background image.  I did stamp off once but I'm thinking stamping off twice would have been better.  Though I do like it like this too.  Then I took my blender pen and colored in the flower.  I used the Daffodil Delight marker for the flower center and Pear Pizzazz for the flower stem.  And that was pretty much it for the coloring.  Easy Peasy!!!

The words are from the "Wetlands" set.  I used the oval scallop punch and the large oval punch.  I didn't really measure the flower.  I just trimmed it after I stamped it, just eyeing the edges.  Then I added the Basic Black layer to it and had a sharp looking edge.

It was a fun card to make and an easy image to work with.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
