A You've Got This Birthday Card

Okay, I have to admit. I do love that "Irresistibly Yours" Specialty Designer Series Paper but I don't like coloring it.  Maybe it's the black ink.  I have not tried any other colors.  I inked it all up with a sponge and then wiped it off the white part with a paper towel.  It all didn't come off the white part so I took another paper towel and sprayed it with some rubbing alcohol and carefully wiped the white areas. On a few of the stripes I had to use a Q-tip sprayed with rubbing alcohol.  But I did manage to get the white ares looking white.

Once I got the striped piece done I set it aside to dry.  I cut the base piece 8-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I folded it in half on the long side.  I cut a piece of gold card stock 5-1/4" x 4" and then I cut the striped paper 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".

I stamped the flower from the "You've Got This" set.  I colored it using a Blender Pen and the Blackberry Bliss ink pad. The center of the flower is Daffodil Delight, and the stem of the flower is Pear Pizzazz.  I fussy cut the flower out (by hand).

Next I used the Circle Framelits and cut a 2-3/8" circle using Whisper White card stock.  The Basic Black circle was cut using the 2-1/2" punch.

I punched out a black scalloped circle.  Then a brushed gold circle using the 1-3/8" circle punch.  The words were done on my computer and I used the 1-1/4" circle punch.

I set the flower and the word circle in place using Dimensionals.  The larger circle was just taped directly to the striped area.

This was a very fun card to make.  I must have been in the mood to cut because normally I would avoid things like that!!!

Give that background a try and let me know what you think!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
