A Sweetbriar Rose Birthday Card

Today I thought I would make a birthday card that I actually need! My cousin is having a birthday on Sunday and I thought I would make her card early.  It will take more than a couple of days to get to her so I figure I would mail it on Wednesday and she should have it by Saturday.  I'm just surprised at myself that I remembered to make her card before I needed it!!!  Score one for me!!!  Maybe that's a sign that this is going to be a great week!!!

I thought I would play with the Sweetbriar set.  I often stay away from sets like this because of the coloring.  Well, I used the Blendabilities to color in the flowers and leaves and I LOVED it!!!  I had fun with this card and I may even make another one. Coloring with those markers makes coloring SO much easier.  Everything just blends in so nicely!!!  It didn't take long to color in the image either.  I did start out with the lightest colors.  I colored in the whole thing, not just highlighted areas.  Then I went in with the next color and then finally the darker color.

My colors here are Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi.  The base of my card is Basic Black and the pieces are layered in Basic Black for that dramatic effect!!! LOL  Did it work?? LOL

I think I would like to make some of these for Mother's Day.  They were easy enough to color.  I could just stamp several images and color them all at one time.  It only took a little strip of the Calypso Coral decorative paper so that stuff would go a long way too!!!  I may just do that.  It was fun enough to do that I know I wouldn't get bored making more!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting my blog today,
Wanda
