A Painted Petals Birthday Card

It's snowing outside and my thoughts are leaning towards spring with all of it's pastel colors!  I'm so done with winter!

I thought I would play with the new Painted Petals set.  It's a fun set with several fun images in it.  The first time I used this image I had a lot of trouble trying to get the flowers lined up right.  This time I broke down and dug out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and tried to work with it that way.  I don't like using my Stamp-a-ma-jig with the clear blocks.  It sometimes shifts a little on me.  I'm sure if I work with it more using the clear blocks I will get better at it.  Anyway, this time I got the flowers closer to the leaves and I was much happier with how it turned out.  And I only stamped one!!!  I used Daffodil Delight to stamp the flowers.  Then I took the Hello Honey marker and colored in some dots and I highlighted the edges a little with it.  Click on the photo to see a closer view and you'll see what I'm talking about.  Doing that just defined the petals a little more.

The leaves were stamped first and I used Old Olive on them.

I used Daffodil Delight decorative paper on the background panels.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Old Olive.  The layers are also Old Olive.

I used the Dotted folder for the Whisper White background panel.

The round scallop punch, 1-3/8" circle punch, and the 1-1/4" circle punch were used here.

The words were done on my computer.  I have them already punched out and sitting in an envelope for when I want to either make a quick card or can't find the right size words for the 1-1/4" circle.  You can purchase 10 different words in PDF format in my web store.  Check here for more details on the words.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. Lovely Card...the polka dots behind the flowers add a splash of color and soooo matches the embossed dots on your card base mat. Will enjoy making this card!
