Festival of Trees Christmas Card

Today I was not on a quest for this year's Christmas card.  I saw this card at Linda Higgins stamping blog.   I liked her card but I did change a few things on it.  I didn't like the color of the tree so I used green with a brown stem and then colored in the bulbs on the tree.  I was a bit surprised that those "bulbs" on the stamp weren't deeper.  I picked up a lot of ink in them and had to use my blender pen to remove them before stamping on card stock.

The tree is from the new "Festival of Trees" set.  It's a clear stamp set.  I like those because you can see through the stamp and know exactly where you are stamping.  I have had problems with my ink beading up on them though.

The stamp set also has a matching tree punch.  You can order them in a bundle and save some money.

I used Soft Sky ink on the background with the Gorgeous Grunge splatter looking stamp.  I also used the new Christmas washi tape on the card.

The words are from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  This card has more "balance" than the card I made yesterday.  Oh and I SO love playing with washi tape!!!

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Lost Lagoon.  That about covers it.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Hey Wanda, sometimes with the clear stamps you have to wipe them with a good white eraser before you use them for the first time. This "conditions" them to take the ink better. Try erasing and then cleaning before you stamp with them again. Hope that helps. Love seeing what you make. Jilly <><
