A Round Array Candy Jar Weekend Project

Today I made a fun candy jar for a beading friend!  The jar is from some instant coffee.  It's about 4-3/4" tall.  Not real big but big enough to fill with candies and use as a fun gift.

I used the "A Round Array" set for this project.  The top reads "For You" and the front reads "You make me smile."  This is for my friend Suzanne who not only makes me smile but she also makes me laugh.  And I mean the kind of laughing where you have tears rolling down your cheeks and you can't catch your breath!!!  I love those times!!!

I wrapped a piece of Real Red decorative paper around the jar.  Then I wrapped a piece of ribbon in the center of the decorative paper.  I punched out two Whisper White scallops, then two smaller Real Red scallops and the images were punched out using the smaller scallop punch.

I layered the scallops and then attached the top one to the lid of the jar using glue dots.  I needed something that would be very sticky.  I did the same with the smaller scallops, except for the larger white one.  I glued it to the decorative paper.

I filled the jar with Ginger flavored Altoids.  They are Suzanne's favorite.  She will be SO surprised to get this on Friday!!!  I had the jar filled with the Altoids for a couple of weeks now and finally got around to decorating the jar.  Nothing like waiting!!! But at least it wasn't one of those last minute things!!!  After all, I do have it done 3 days in advance!!!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda

  1. what a cute decorative jar and makes for a nice little 'thinking of you' gift or a 'just because' gift.
I'm sure your friend will love it but then who wouldn't enjoy receiving such a cute little gift.
