Peaceful Petals

I think this "Peaceful Petals" set has some great images in it.  It's got a couple of fun flowers, one medium size and one large.  It's got a stem of leaves and a stem with both leaves and flowers on them and it's got a leaf.  Plus there's two word stamps in it too.  It was the flower I used on today's card that made me just HAVE to have this set.

I found a card on Lee's Stampinglee Yours blog that I thought would be fun to make using a paper doily.  I still have a lot of those doilies to use up!!!  When I see the card on the blog here I notice that I probably should have tried to double up on the doily so it would look more white than transparent.  Oh well, maybe I'll remember that another time.

I probably could have put some words on the card too, it's kind of empty on the right side.  But leaving it blank can open the card up to be used for several different occasions/events.

I also LOVE it when you can use decorative paper for your background. It aids in making the card go together super quick!

For my card I stamped the leaf stem on and colored it using a Blender Pen and Old Olive marker. Then I stamped the flower and cut it out.  I wish it would have had a punch!!! I've gotten SO lazy when it comes to stamping and cutting!!! Punches are SO much easier!  But cutting this flower wasn't bad and I don't think I would complain if I had to cut more out another time. Okay, you know I'll complain, I ALWAYS complain when it comes to cutting stuff out!!! LOL  Anyway, the flower was colored in using a Blender Pen and Crisp Cantaloupe and then a little Pumpkin Pie was added for highlights.  The center was colored in using Daffodil Delight.  And yes, it's as simple as that!  I just thought it was a striking card and I wanted to try to make one close to Lee's card.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
