A Simply Sketched Birthday

I was trying to keep this card more on the masculine side but I wasn't having much luck.  I thought I would do a nature card.  Those are perfect for guys, right?  So with the masculine theme in mind I knew I bows were out of the question so I just ink stained the ribbon and set it in place.  A big YUCK came to mind.  The ribbon is suppose to be the Coastal Cabana color but it turned out too green.  But I used it anyway, I figured "guys don't really care about details like that!  The ribbon REALLY needs a bow!  I thought about changing it to a more feminine card by adding a bow but I didn't want to mess with coloring more ribbon.  It's not one of my favorite techniques and I don't like getting that much ink on my fingers.  The ribbon didn't seem like it was ever going to dry.  I kept getting ink on my fingers and on my work surface when I turned it over.  So I am going to let it dry overnight and see if that helps with that part.  And maybe some miracle with happen and the card will look prettier tomorrow too!!! LOL

I do like this "Simply Sketched" set.  I think I will play with it again but use a nicer layout.  Wish me luck on that one!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Wanda
