Mixed Bunch Birthday Card CASE

I tried my best to CASE this card from Angela at North Shore Stamper.  I am SO in the mood for spring colors and flower cards lately.  I do so very much LOVE winter and snow but it's time to move onto the spring stuff and since we are in the month of March, it is time for these colors and flowers!

When I laid my eyes on this card I knew I had to make it.  I actually made two.  I thought it would be a perfect birthday card for my sister but I ended up giving her a different one in the end!  But I did send this card home with her too.  Lucky her!!!

This card was easy to make.  I really liked the little flower petal leaves in the background.  Those are from the "Blossom Builders" kit.  I don't usually buy kits but this one had a lot of fun stuff in it and I thought I could whip up a lot of cards in no time with it.  We'll see!!!

I have learned in stamping for so many years that images with larger solid surfaces need a little help to get a nice crisp print. What I do is ink up the stamp and then test it out on scrap copier paper.  Keep in mind that copier paper absorbs the ink differently than card stock does so don't accept what you see as correct.  I do it to see if there are any "dry" spot on my ink pad.  If it stamps nicely then I ink up the image again and I huff on it two or three times to get the steam from my breath to moisten up the ink a bit more.  Then when I stamp the image I (most of the time) get a nice rich solid looking print.  I was happy with the way these flowers turned out.  A little huffing and puffing is a good thing!!! LOL

My sister liked the card and I now have one for my stash!

Be sure to check in on here during the week. I have some fun projects to share with you!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. Hi Wanda, another tip I recently learned about is to condition your stamp first. Use the adhesive eraser and "erase" the solid image. Clean off on your scrub and ink up. You will be very surprised at how well your stamp picks up the ink after that.
