Gently Falling Sympathy Card

As I was making this card I was leaning more towards a masculine birthday card and it ended up being a sympathy card.  This card could be used for either male or female.  It would be used as a male card any time of the year and for a female in the fall months.

I had a lot of fun making this card too.  I stamped the leaf using VersaMark and gold embossing powder. I sponged in some More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and a touch of Garden Green.  I did use a dauber sponge for this, I seemed to have more control of the coloring and as you can see the colors look pretty cool!  I was surprised at how cool it looked and I was pleased with the leaf.  I cut it out and set it aside because I wasn't sure where I was going to put it on the card.  At that point I didn't have the lattice die piece cut out.  I did use my Xyron machine to make the card stock sticky on the back before I cut the die piece out.  Once it was cut out I trimmed off 4 of the points and then removed the backing and exposed the sticky stuff and set it in place on the card.  It sure makes it easy to affix things with small thin areas that are normally difficult to tape.  And glue, well it could be glued but you need the glue to be thin and probably covered all over the back and by the time you get to the end the glue would be dry in spots because it needs to be thin.  So I just fine the Xryon machine a gem to have for dies such as this!

And I was surprised too at how quick this card was to make!!!  Ya gotta LOVE quick cards!

I do like how this card turned out and I can see myself making more of them.  Though I don't think I would want to use it in a swap.  Cutting out a bunch of leaves doesn't really interest me.  But on the other hand, coloring in all of those leaves would be fun!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Very lovely card, Wanda. I love the way that you colored the leaf. I will be trying to accomplish that also. Thanks for sharing.
