Pearl Resist Technique - Technique Page

I was SO excited as I was working on this technique!  Not because it was pretty and fun and easy.  But because it was the last one in this set.  Well, when I got the first page done and went to put it in my 6" x 6" album I counted the pages and I am 3 techniques short.  I can't believe I don't know how to count anymore!!! UGH!!  So it will be a few weeks longer before this set is complete.  Sorry to get your hopes up.  I will try to get them done soon so I can get them out those of you who are waiting for them.

SO let me talk about this technique.  I tried to get a good photo of it.  If you click on the photo you will be able to see it on a larger scale.  You will see what looks to be white squiggles.  Well those white squiggles is really the Shimmer Paint.  When the light catches it right it shows the pearl look but I just couldn't catch that right light.

To do this you just take the Shimmer Paint and a wadded up piece of waxed paper and dab it over the card stock.  Then when it's dry you sponge in the colors you want.  It's very easy to do and SO pretty too!

I used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch to make the flowers and a 3/4" circle punch to make the colored circles behind them. The words were done with the "Curly Cute" set.  This technique makes a very pretty and interesting card too!  I would LOVE to try this on a 12" x 12" scrapbook page for the background.  Can you imagine how pretty that would look?

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. Hi Wanda,
I love the pearlized technique. Are you making a book of techniques? Where did you get the ideas or did you just come up with them on your own? I bought the Technique Geeks set from someone and plan to do all of them to have as samples for a class I want to start. Anyway, great technique. I subscribe to your site and visit often--you have such beautiful work. Alison
