Intimidated by a Card!

Ever been intimidated by a card? This one sure intimidated me!!! This is the card that Autumn designed for the Sunday Shoebox Swap. I took one look at it and my first thought was "I don't even know where to begin. It sure threw me. It wasn't a "regular"or "normal" card and i was surely stamping out of my element tackling something like this. Fortunately Autumn wa standing next to me when I sat down. Perhaps she saw the "deer in headlights" look I had on my face and took mercy on me!!! LOL

She guided me through it and it wasn't so bad after all!!! I don't know what this card is called and I don't have the measurements for the bottom part. Autumn had everything all cut and scored and the slit in the top where the card slides in. Actually it doesn't slide in, it's taped in place. The box is folded up in half and it forms a standard size greeting card. The kind I'm use to seeing!!!

I stamped the image which came from the Stampin' Up! Hostess set "Kind & Caring Thoughts." I LOVE this set!!!

The butterfly was made using the new butterfly punch!!! It was folded in half and when you close the card up to mail it you fold the butterfly shut so it all fits in the card! Isn't it just an adorable card? I feel SO fortunate to be surrounded by such talented gals!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. LOL I felt intimidated the first time I made one of those cards too, all looks a bit weird until you get it stuck together and then you have that 'voila' moment, love your version, the colours are so pretty TFS XXX

    Hi Wanda,

The same thing happened to me when I went to the monthly meeting of "Sassy Scrappers" at my church. The person sharing assured me it was easier than it looked, but I was dubious . . . turned out she was so right.

Anyway there are directions on Splitcoaststampers, Resources, Projects, it is called "Free Standing Pop-Up Card".

    Have a blessesd day
    Devina
