Wednesday Sketch Challenge at SplitCoastStampers

Another Wednesday has snuck up on me!!! I just can't believe how fast time is flying. We are almost to the middle of this month!!! Summer will be over sooner than we think. Actually summer has not come to Minnesota yet. It's still spring weather here. I looked out my window today and thought that it would be a couple more weeks before the maple tree leaves will all be open and I won't be able to see the neighbors house for about four months or so!!! It's kind of nice to have the backyard feel "private" if only for a few months!

Onto the sketch. This one was VERY different, a bit challenging but definitely FUN!

I used some "map" paper I had gotten at Michael's. I had it sitting around and thought it would be perfect for what I had in mind. I dug out my old (and most LOVED) masculine "Classic Pickups" set by Stampin' Up! It has always been a fun set and I miss it not being in the catalog. Hopefully in the next catalog there will be some more vehicle stamps!! I did do the wording on the computer because I wanted it to fit in the area of the sketch. Once I got everything on the card it looked like it needed just a little something. "Buttons!!!" I thought and then as quick as that thought came the word "masculine" came to mind and that means leave off pretty buttons and bows and ribbons!!!! LOL Brads!! Yes, brads. They are masculine, especially black ones. The can look like rivets or nails. They will do for a "masculine" touch!! And I think it was just what the card needed!

I didn't have to color a thing on this card. The Ballet Blue on the car image was enough to allow the image to stand out and yet not have to color in anything!!! Talk about simple!!! The map was easy because it was already colored. And typing up a few words on the computer went quickly too! Such an easy card to do!! And a VERY fun sketch. If you have time, play with this sketch. Then head on over to SplitCoastStampers and submit your card!!! It's a lot of fun!

  6. OMG I love this card. I have this stamp set and have a tough time using it. The map background ties it in great. Now I know what card I'm making Dad. He has a hot rod and travels to car shows.
