Copper and Apatite Earrings

As many of you know, I just don't just make cards with my time. I do other crafts such as knitting, crocheting, playing with polymer clay and jewelry making. Today I made a pair of earrings using copper and faceted apatite stones. I thought I'd share it with you today. I also made several other pair using copper beads in place of the apatite stones. I made my own headpins. It's the balled pin at the end of the earrings. I torched them earlier this year. I will be making more before the weather gets to cold to be out in the garage. It's something that is probably okay to make one or two in the house but it's best to torch copper outside or in a very ventilated area. I don't have the ventilation system that is needed to do that many in the house. So I set up camp in the garage and torch away.

These are very lightweight and easy to wear. I file the ends of the ear wires so they glide in the ear easily. I love the look of the apatite with the copper.

I had a lot of fun making these and will be making more using other semi-precious gem stones and more copper beaded ones.  I have other jewelry items I've made and I'll post some in a few days.

You can see some of the other things I have made by clicking here.  The web store is not working right now and I usually shut it down during craft fair season because most of the items go to the craft fairs.

Thanks for looking,
Wanda

  2. These are beautiful! I work with the jewelry at the thrift store--cleaning, repairing, displaying, etc.--so I'm always interested in how it's made. You do a wonderful job, and I'm sure these will sell well.
