Delicate Dreams, Garden Gathering, Sunflower Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I thought would be quick to make. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. There was no link to the card for instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Hydrangea Hue card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock for the largest layer. I textured that layer using the "Sunflower" embossing folder. Then I took the Basic White craft ink pad and swiped it across the piece so the white ink could highlight some of the details.  Now here's where I said that I thought it would be a quick card. Craft ink takes a while to dry. I ended up using my embossing heat tool to dry the ink. It really didn't take that long to dry but I didn't think of that before I started the card. I glued this piece to the card base. 

Using the "Party Banner" dies, I cut the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12" x 12" package.  I used the third smallest die and for the back layer I used the fourth smallest die on the Hydrangea Hue card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 7/8" from the top and 1" from each side.

The words are from the "Garden Gatherings" bundle and were stamped using Pecan Pie ink. I cut them out using the ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 2" from the top edge and equal spacing on each side. And the card was done.

All in all it was a pretty quick card to make and I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
