The DSP is from the (retired) "Wildflower Birthday" package. I had already cut the pieces using the "Everyday Arches" die set. It looks like I used the 2nd and 3rd die in the set. Now from here I was on my own.
I taped the two arched pieces together and added Dimensionals to the back.
Using a folded half-sheet of Basic White card for the base, I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the same package. It's such a pretty gingham piece.
Then the arched pieces were added.
The balloon is from the same package. It had two sheets of pre-cut images. So I thought the balloon was the best fit for this card. Dimensionals were added to the part of the ballon that touches the top layer.
I didn't add any sentiment because the card pretty much speaks for itself. And that was it. I thought about adding some bling to where the dots are on the "frosting" swooped design but I decided to leave it, it gets more expensive to mail cards with hard/firm embellishments. Dimensionals squish down in the postal machines (as long as there aren't too many layers).
This was a very super quick card to make and I did leave the package of DSP out so I can make a few more like this for my stash. I'd really like to use up that package. I'm on a quest to use up packages, there's SO many sitting around here. I just hate to give them up. Not that I'm going to post a lot of retired items here but today I was in a time crunch and I just had to. Plus this layout can be used for other sheets of current DSP. I may take the time tomorrow and work it out with some and see what I get.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Pretty images to play with and goes great with the arch and pretty paper, does well without a sentiment :)
ReplyDeleteI love the gingham paper, and those arches are great!
