Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Thank You Card

Today I needed to get a thank you card out in the mail. It was long overdue.  I had a lot of things going on and it's really no excuse to not to take the time to get this card out. A sweet friend of mine had helped me remove the wallpaper in my downstairs bathroom. It was not as bad as I thought it would be because the walls had been sized but it still was not a fun job. With the two of us it went rather quickly.  Fortunately it's a small bathroom and one of the sides was the shower with no paper in there!  I did not take any before photos. The paper was peeling, which is common in a bathroom where the shower is run almost every day. The paper had been up for about 20 years.  Maybe a bit less but not much. I don't like change so I don't change the colors of my rooms much at all. Anyway, I was meaning to send her a thank you card and I kept putting it off. So today I decided I would put one together for her and here's what I came up with.

I'm using the "Forever Fern" set again and using colors leaning more towards fall than spring or summer. I gotta keep these sets versatile!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it with the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

Then I die cut the lacy frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies. I took a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "You're a Peach" 12" x 12" package and I cut it at 1-1/8" x 4-1/8".  I glued it to the lacy piece.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set onto the front of the card, lining it up on the left, top and bottom.

I stamped the leaves using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz inks. Then I die cut the pieces.

I started with the left Cherry Cobbler piece. You may want to add the Wink of Stella before you continue. I didn't add it until the card was done and it was a little difficult to reach some of the leaves. I glued this leaf in place over the DSP. Then I added the darker Mossy Meadow one in the background. I glued it in place. The center leaves were added next. They were set in place using a combination of glue on the left and Dimensionals on the right. But before pressing it down on the right I glued the other Cherry Cobbler leaves in place. The Old Olive wider leaves were set in place with glue on the left and a couple of Dimenisonals on the right. And the smaller Pear Pizzazz leaves were glued in place.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink. I die cut them with the "Stitched Rectangles" dies. I cut a 1-1/4" x 2-5/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock. I glued the stamped piece to the Cherry Cobbler piece. Then it was set in place on the card using glue on the left and a few Dimensionals on the right.  And the card was done.  Now to write in it and get it out in the mail!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's thank you card,
Wanda
