Penguin Place, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I think this penguin is the cutest thing since the bambi looking reindeer a few years ago. I love the looks of this little guy. I can punch him from Designer Series Paper (DSP) or I can punch him from card stock, OR I can stamp him and then punch him.  I found today's card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

The first thing I did was I punched out the body using Basic Black card stock. Then I punched out the white front piece. The eyes got stamped on next using black Memento ink. The mouth was added using Pumpkin Pie ink.

I glued the white front piece to the body and set it aside to dry.

The feet were then stamped on Pumpkin Pie card stock using Pumpkin Pie ink. I punched them out. They do not come in a pair so you need to stamp and punch two per penguin.  I glued the feet to the back of the body piece. I used glue because I was only gluing a tiny part of the tip of the foot piece. I wanted a lot of foot to show.  I set it aside to dry.

I stamped the scarf using Bermuda Bay ink. I tried to find a fun ink to use that wouldn't stand out too much but yet would add a different color to the card. I had to fussy cut this piece. I glued it in place on the penguin.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I used Pool Party ink and my blending brush to scrub in some ink where the penguin will be sitting.  Then I took Pool Party ink and stamped on the snowflakes.

I set the penguin on top to see where the words were going to go. The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using Bermuda Bay ink.

The penguin was set in place using Dimensionals.  I thought the card could use a bit of sparkle to I added a dot of Wink of Stella to the center of each snowflake. It was just what the card needed.

This was a very fun card to make. It was quick and easy enough too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by and see this cute penguin card,
Wanda

  1. A single penguin on your white card base looks AMAZING.
I totally agree with you on the cuteness factor of this little penguin.
